Purpose: designed for processing materials, production of solar cells (cutting thin layers of molybdenum and semiconductors), serves as a pumping source for terahertz scanners, ultrafast excitation-sensing spectrometers, etc.
Advantages: Due to the use of diode lasers as a source of optical pumping, the production cost of these lasers has been significantly reduced.
Main characteristics: The femtosecond laser operates on the basis of a Yb:KY(WO4)2 crystal with continuous diode pumping. The average output power is up to 1.5 W, pulse duration is up to 130 fs, pulse repetition frequency is 70 MHz. Feasibility study: the optical efficiency of the laser exceeds 25%, i.e. low power consumption of the entire system is ensured.
