Purpose: the technology and equipment are designed for surface hardening of the working surfaces of parts to a depth of 0.3-1 mm, for which volumetric heating is unacceptable or impossible, in particular, for large-sized and long-length parts, parts of complex shape, etc.
Advantages: wear resistance, as a rule, is 1.5... 2.5 times higher with laser quenching compared to bulk quenching, and with laser alloying is 2...3 times higher than with laser quenching. The technology provides an increase in energy efficiency by 10 -12 times compared to similar processes using CO2 gas lasers. The use of a unique adaptive optical system makes it possible to form a laser impact zone with a given energy distribution over the cross section of the laser spot.
Main characteristics: solid-state fiber-optic lasers with high efficiency and reliability are used to implement the technology. Portal systems of machines based on linear direct-acting drives provide the possibility of surface treatment in a wide range of processing modes and can provide the necessary number of degrees of freedom for processing surfaces of any spatial shape.
